TERM 1 NARRAWEENA NEWSLETTER 2012

Welcome back to all our parents and students and a big welcome to our new students and their families for 2012.

On behalf of the teachers I would like to congratulate all our students on a wonderful 2011 Concert. I think the students and our parent performers did a fantastic job.

Thank you to all our wonderful supportive parents we look forward to another successful year !!

·        TERM 1 Dates:

Classes start back from Monday 30th January till Thursday 5th April

(Alternate hall venues for February, please see below for details)

·       Exciting news.

Our Narraweena halls are being refurbished over the holidays with new flooring and brand new bathrooms and storage rooms.

Unfortunately all our halls will not be finished in time before we start back so we have had to make alternate halls arrangements for February.

The main top hall will be finished but we need 3 halls together most days so the students can move from class to class so we need to be in the one venue when possible to allow this to happen.

We have been able to get St David’s Uniting Church hall in Dee Why with the exception of Friday when classes will be held at St Kevin’s Hall in Dee why.

Sorry for any inconvenience but it will be great to have new flooring and bathrooms.

Please remind your child they must wait inside in the foyer at St Davids or St Kevin’s, no students are to wait up on the street,

All parents must go in to pick up their child from inside the building for safety reasons.

Please ensure you are on time to pick up your child all year from classes as we cannot be responsible for the children once they have left the studio, teachers need to start on their next classes. If you are going to be late please make alternate arrangements .

Once all classes are back at Narraweena we ask that you take care in the car park and watch out for children. Please do not park in the turning circle at any time as there is plenty of parking available in the car park and in the street. Also please refrain from walking through the middle of the carpark with children as cars are reversing, please walk on the grass. Thank you  for your support in this matter!

A hire fee is payable in Term 3. This will go towards our costume fund in order to secure costumes for our end of year concerts.

There will be a couple of Saturday rehearsals in the weeks prior to the concert in order to be well prepared for our wonderful production.

·        Open Day classes-

The last week of term you are welcome to watch any of your child’s dance classes. We ask that parents do not watch classes during the term as it is very distracting for the students and teachers.

Once again we plan to have a wonderful year with successful Eisteddfods and Exam results and we hope you have lots of fun at our end of year Concerts late November or December. We will let you know as soon as concert dates are confirmed with the theatre.

We are looking forward to another fantastic year !!
